Built Firewall Demilitarizes the zone (DMZ) to Server Linux with IPTables. A Network Engineer, it was hoped well-off to pacify his network from the attack from outside and from inside the network. Many methods or the method that could in usesd, depended on the capacity a person network engineer. One of the best methods was with fortified server in the network technically Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). There were many methods also to used DMZ this in our network. Like that was known by us was 2 (two) the kind firewall that is in a hardware manner and software. For the version that hardware had several firewall the upper plank like the Cisco PIX Firewall example. However when the limited budget, bought a set of Ciscp PIX Firewall could leak your pocket. Whereas to firewall software like Black Ice, indeed really powerfull. But bought software Black ICE was incriminating enough also. Because of that was offered by us firewall dirt cheap by using Linux. And evidently linux this was enough capable to in made DMZ firewall.

To monitoring the traffic that goes through the ether1 (Local) you can used torch, but this not same with graphing. you cando it from telnet or winbox.

1. Log in via telnet

2. now do it

After you had configuration mikrotik router os as gateway server, now to monitor the traffic with graphing was as follows:

1. Log in From winbox

2. set the time to monitoring

/tool graphing set store-every=hour
[admin@MikroTik] tool graphing> print
store-every: hour
[admin@MikroTik] tool graphing>

3. add interface to monitoring

this example : to monitoring Local and Public

[admin@MikroTik] tool graphing interface> add interface=all  store-on-disk=yes
4. Print interace
